Stephanie Grisham, former press secretary and chief of staff at Melania Trump, paints a not-so-beautiful picture of her ex-employer in a new book. This is what the American magazine Politico reports, which was already allowed to look into the book. According to Grisham, the previous first lady of the United States declined, among other things, pertinent to call on the protesters to rest during the storming of the Capitol.
“No.” That was the very short message she received from Melania Trump on January 6, according to Stephanie Grisham. A minute earlier, Grisham had asked the first lady via text message “if she wanted to tweet that peaceful argue is the right of every American, but that there is no place for lawlessness and violence.” Melania refused, even though at that time the Capitol was stormed by supporters of her husband who refused to believe that the presidential election had gone correctly. The storming would eventually fall five deaths.
The short answer — according to the book, Melania Trump at the time “had no time because she was busy doing a photo shoot of a new carpet she had bought — was the straw for Grisham. Although she had been employed by the first lady for years, she resigned within an hour. She said she could no longer justify this. “That one message broke me,” she writes in the book. “I have long defended her against all kinds of accusations, but I also see her as a kind of Marie-Antoinette, the doomed French queen (who ended up under the guillotine in the wake of the French Revolution, ed.). Dismissive, defeated, unhinged from reality.”
Grisham, the press secretary who is known for never organizing a press conference throughout her period in the White House, does not keep up with it. According to Grisham, Melania was firmly convinced that the presidential elections were falsified and that her husband had lost unlawfully. “Thats why she also refused to invite Jill Biden (her successor as first lady, ed.) and to ensure that the transition would be smooth. I tried to explain to her that there are minor irregularities in every election, but there was no major conspiracy to get her husband out of the White House. However, she refused to believe it.”
Melania Trumps camp has already responded to the allegations with a press release. “The purpose of this book is clear: an attempt to talk itself well after a terrible performance as press secretary and unprofessional conduct in the White House. Through falsehoods and betrayal, Grisham tries to monetize the back of Ms. Trump.”
In the book Ill take your questions now: what I saw in the White House, which will be released on October 5, Grisham would also make revelations about Donald Trump and his son-in-law Jared Kushner, according to Politico. “Grisham has secrets about Donald Trump that even Melania knows nothing about,” Politico writes.
