Former tour winner Bradley Wiggins out of fierce criticism of Ineos

Team boss Dave Brailsford of cycling formation Ineos Grenadiers would have been fired if he had been a trainer of a football club. That is what former cyclist Bradley Wiggins said during an analysis of the Tour de France at Eurosport. Ineos has dominated the Tour in recent years, but is disappointed this year.

Wiggins won the Tour in 2012 under Brailsford at Team Sky, the forerunner of Ineos Grenadiers. Chris Froome (4 Tour victories), Geraint Thomas and Egan Bernal (both 1 Tour victories) were also very successful under Brailsford.

It’s hard to stay at the top every year, but this year they just didn’t do well, said Wiggins. I don’t know what happened, but the planning didn’t bring success. Dave Brailsford had been sacked from a football club

Brailsford left Froome and Thomas out of his selection for the Tour. Kopman Bernal lost about 8 minutes at the Grand Colombier on Sunday. They will have to build a new team that will be there next year, said Wiggins.
