In Paris, the French actress Nathalie Delon (79) died. She was the ex-wife of the famous French actor Alain Delon.
Francine Canovas was born in Oujda, Morocco in 1941 came to Paris in the early 1960s. There she met Delon who fell in love with her and broke off his five-year engagement to Romy Schneider in order to marry her.
The couple married in 1964 and immediately after the marriage they left for the United States, where Delon had a film contract. A month later, their son Anthony was born in Los Angeles.
In 1967, Nathalie played her first film role, along with her husband, in Le Samouraï by director Jean-Pierre Melville. Two years later, her marriage to Alain Delon ended.
She continued to act and played in Army of Shadows, Bluebeard, The Romantic Englishwoman and Une femme fidèle. She also directed films such as Sweet Lies and Ils appellent ça un accident. The last film in which she was featured was Nuit de chien from 2008.
