Robin Gosens could have become the hero of Internazionale on Wednesday night. In the 89th minute, he made 2-3 for the Milanese in the match against FC Barcelona, but one minute later, it was Robert Lewandowski who scored the equaliser for the home team.
“This was really a crazy game,” Gosens told beIN Sports after the game. “I think it was great for everyone to see this game. But I think you should really take home those three points here. Especially because theyre still scoring at the last minute, I dont think you can be completely happy here.” Gosens filled in for Hakan Calhanoglu in the 76th minute.
Gosens himself was overjoyed with his goal against Barcelona. “Of course, if you get to score a goal in this stadium, youll always remember that. I wont forget this moment in my life. The fact that you get to play in Camp Nou is already a great opportunity, but if you also score a goal, its really just emotions running through you. I worked really hard for this and Im glad I was able to help my team.”
Born in Germany, Gosens started his career in Germany, but ended up in Vitesses youth in 2012. The midfielder finally came to play with Heracles Almelo via a detour at FC Dordrecht. There, he made an impression and earned a transfer to Atalanta, Italy. That club is currently lending it to Internazionale with a mandatory option to buy fifteen million euros.
“Its not every day you score a goal at Camp Nou. Its a moment I will remember forever!” A night to remember for Robin Gosens, but the Inter man felt his side should have beaten Barcelona! 🎤 @adriandelmonte #beINUCL #UCL pic.twitter.com/i5OakJt9cc
