‘Fulham gives gas, but contract situation Kluivert is still a stumbling block’

There is a good chance that Justin Kluivert will play in the Premier League this season. Fulham is accelerating for the Dutch winger, but there is no agreement yet, reports The Evening Standard.
Kluivert is redundant at AS Roma and is allowed to leave. Fulham wants to rent it, with an option to buy 9.5 million euros. The Premier League club is speeding up negotiations, writes London newspaper. However, one important obstacle has to be solved first: The ex-Ajacied has only been stuck in Stadio Olimpico for one year, so the Italians see him walk out the door for free if Fulham does not have to highlight the option.
Kluivert sees a switch to Fulham itself. Last season, he played on loan for OGC Nice, but the French club eventually refrained from permanently enlisting him.
Should the transfer take place, Fulham is already the fifth club for the only 23-year-old Kluivert. After breaking through at Ajax under Peter Bosz in the 2016/17 season, he moved to Roma, which besides Nice also stole him at RB Leipzig in the past.
Joshua Zirkzee also remains in the picture at Craven Cottage, but the arrival of a defender and an outside player is a priority. For that first position, Issa Diop has now been taken over from West Ham United.
