Gazet van Antwerpen: AZ agrees and renets Druijf

Ferdy Druijf is leaving AZ temporarily again. According to the Antwerp Gazet, KV Mechelen will once again hire the Keuken Champion Division Top Scorer of 2018/2019 from the Alkmaarders.
Druijf left for De Kakkers in January, who had stipulated a purchase option. It was not lighted, which would basically return the striker to Alkmaar. However, the number three of the Eredivisie and the number eight of the regular Jupiler Pro League season have talked about a new rental deal in the meantime. According to the Antwerp Gazet, an agreement has been made and the deal will be made world-class after the weekend.
Although it is still fixed until 2024, it is still the question whether Druijf will ever play a match on behalf of AZ again. The striker reached 28 competition goals on behalf of Jong AZ and NEC in ’18/’19, but had to do it in the Eredivisie with a role as a stand-in by Myron Boadu. During his stay Achter De Kazerne, he accounted for seven goals and four assists in 23 official performances on behalf of KV Mechelen.
