Germany retaliates for the Netherlands and goes to European Championship finals at the expense of French

Germany is Sarina Wiegman‘s opponent in the final of the European Championships. An unleashed Alexandra Popp scored twice in the semi-finals against France, allowing the Germans to win 2-1 and get ready for the final battle against England. The Netherlands previously lost to France in the quarter-finals.
The Germans started strongly in the first half and prevailed against the French. After 40 minutes, Popp expressed this in a 1-0 lead for Germany. The goal scoring machine thus scored her fifth goal of this tournament. Shortly before the break, however, France came alongside. A goal that seemed to be made by Kadidiatou Diani turned out to be a goal by Merle Frohms in his own goal, making it 1-1.
After the break, it was France that took the upper hand in the match, but did not manage to score. In the end, Popp on the other side again made the liberating hit for Germany fifteen minutes before time. This lead was jeopardized a number of times in the final phase, but in the end Popp’
s sixth goal turned out to be enough to make it to the final game.
On Sunday 31 July, Germany will play the final against the England of trainer Sarina Wiegman at Wembley.
