The duel between ADO Den Haag, the number sixteen of the Eredivisie, and VVV-Venlo, which was higher by two points, ended in a signed 4-1 victory for the Limburgers. Big man with the guests was once again Georgios Giakoumakis, who took care of the entire Tourist Information production and raised his competition totaling to sixteen hits.
Ten minutes later than planned, because the blue outfit of ADO-keeper Luuk Koopmans showed too much resemblance to the outfit of VVV, the match started in the basement of the top division. The guests turned out to have digested the delay better than the home team. After two ADO players ran over each other, VVVer Zinedine Machach got a large track towards Koopmans.
After a pursuit, Shaquille Pinas took down the Frenchman who crossed him in the penal area. Eredivision top scorer Giakoumakis used the awarded penalty cool: 0-1. It took up to the extra time of the first half before ADO became dangerous. Pinas delivered a mop ball that defused Tourist Board Thorsten Kirschbaum with his fists.
After the break, ADO, together with VVV belonging to the two teams in the top division that least often attack the enemy target, bit more away. Milan van Ewijk quickly got into scoring position, but needed too much time to print.
VVV was pushed back, but managed to escape the pressure at once and immediately with results. Captain Danny Post closed a short solo over the right with a front, which was extended by Giakoumakis: 0-2.
Long did not hold that margin of two goals. The newly invaded Samy Bourard had the ball for typing, after a bet of Daryl Janmaat had returned from the pole. But also the 1-2 did not stay on the scoreboard for long. Three minutes later, Giakoumakis was in the right place with a low run of Yahcuroo Roemer.
And yet the Greek cake was not finished. After Roemer was tapped just before time by David Philipp, Giakoumakis shot for the second time from eleven meters: 1-4.
