Go Ahead feels robbed against Ajax: ‘Adekanye is stronger than Bassey’

René Hake believes that Go Ahead Eagles was denied a clean goal in the Eredivisie game with Ajax. The trainer of the Deventeners refers to Bobby Adekanyes rejected goal about ten minutes after the break.
The Go Ahead attacker passed Remko Pasveer, but just before, arbitrator Alex Bos whistled off due to an offence against Calvin Bassey. A push by Adekanye against the Ajax defender was punished.
“I haven
t seen it again, but Ive been whispered that Bobby Adekanyes shoulders are stronger than Basseys,” Haké responds sarcastically at ESPN. He then gets to see the images after all. “Ive also seen that theres no whistling for it. You just have to let this go on.” Has Go Ahead been stripped of a goal? “Yes,” is the clear answer.
Goalkeeper Jeffrey de Lange also disagreed with the arbitration decision. “I think Bobby made a pretty nice goal. We were just talking about that. I don
t think there was much going on there. You dont know how it works if it had counted.”
Twelve minutes before, Go Ahead came alongside Willum Willumsson and so Hake gets on the bus to Deventer with a good feeling. “We are proud to have achieved this. A tie at Ajax is a top performance for us as Go Ahead. You can only be happy about that.”
