Go Ahead surprises Cambuur in Leeuwarden

Titelfavorite SC Cambuur lost the first points of the season in the first division at home against Go Ahead Eagles. Coach Henk de Jongs team went down 2-0 in Leeuwarden.

The visitors got the lead via a free kick. Erkan Eyibil curled the ball into the Frisian penalty area, Sam Beukema put the ball aside and Jeroen Veldmate shot calmly in. Just after half time it became 0-2. Bradly van Hoeven rounded off an action cleverly.

Cambuur was unable to return to the game in the sequel. As a result, only NAC Breda (2-6), Roda JC (2-6) and De Graafschap (1-3) are now without loss of points

Excelsior thanks top scorer Ómarsson

Earlier on Friday Excelsior scored a 3-1 victory with FC Dordrecht and with that the Kralingers came out of three matches on six points, as much as Cambuur. Elías Már Ómarsson was the big man in coach Marinus Dijkhuizens team

Dordrecht did get a lead by a goal from Kevin Vermeulen. After that, Elías Már Ómarsson scored twice for Excelsior. With his sixth and seventh goals of the season, the Icelander is top scorer of the first division. Thomas Oude Kotte set the final score at 1-3.

Second defeat Young Ajax

FC Volendam lost at home 1-0 to Jong FC Utrecht. Hicham Acheffay scored, when the visitors already played with one man less. Oussama Alou got the red card in the 53rd minute

Young Ajax suffered his second defeat at NEC in two games. Rens van Eijden headed NECs opening goal, substitute Giovanni drew ten minutes ahead of time with his first goal for Young Ajax and Jordy Bruijn shot NEC from the penalty spot to win: 2-1. Jong PSV won thanks to three goals by Ismael Saibari 4-1 at Jong AZ
