Götze takes stock: ‘Personally and professionally, Roger is a top trainer’

Mario Götze liked his transfer to PSV. The 2014 World Cup hero had ended up dead at Borussia Dortmund, but settled in Eindhoven at the beginning of October and has, according to his own words, found the fun in football.
Götze had to pass the first football weeks of 2021, but is now able to play ninety minutes every week. I have played a lot of matches in the meantime and I feel very good. I am now top fit, he tells BILD. In this way I have fun playing football again. You notice that automatisms arise and that the training work pays off.
He does this under the wings of compatriot Roger Schmidt: Götze was impressed by the PSV trainer. Both personally and professionally, Roger is a top trainer, judges the 28-year-old playmaker. I feel his trust. That also gives me confidence and helps me to perform well.
