Kathalijne Buitenweg stops as a Member of Parliament for GroenLinks. She is still finishing her term, but will not stand for election in March next year.
In a statement the 50-year-old Member of Parliament writes that she has recently wondered what more she wants. “This year, in which I turned out to be seriously ill and then unexpectedly better again, that question was suddenly prominently on my plate.”
The Member of Parliament writes that she does not yet have a new job. “I notice I’m looking forward to exploring new paths, to taking on other roles.”
member of the House of Representatives since 2017 and is Vice-Chairman of the Lower House. In the previous elections she was second on the electoral list after Jesse Klaver. In the House of Representatives Buitenweg is mainly concerned with justice and the police. Before that she was a member of the European Parliament for ten years.
