Groningen comes to the top of Seuntjens and books simple win

FC Groningen has booked a simple win when visiting Fortuna Sittard. The team of coach Danny Buijs is distancing from the relegation zone due to the 1-4 victory in Limburg.
The start was still before the home team. Mats Seuntjens took care of the wonderful opening hit after 23 minutes. He surprised goalkeeper Peter Leeuwenburgh with a flare of distance. Groningen‘s answer was not long in coming. Club top scorer Cyril Ngonge, who returned to the base, headlined a hit after a cross by Wessel Dammers: 1-1, and visitors were even ahead before rest. Fortuna-back George Cox ran into a cross in a clumsy way and the ball ended up with a bow in Yannick van Osch’s goal.

Groningen had the reins with that and Fortuna was barely able to make a fist after the break. After 51 minutes, it became even worse for the formation of coach Sjors Ultee. Van Osch released a long shot, after which Daleho Irandust was there like the chickens to tap in. After Fortuna had to continue with ten men after 63 minutes, the plea was finally settled. Roel Janssen got yellow at first, but on the advice of the VAR, the offence was looked at again. Referee Jeroen Manschot then decided to send the defender away.
Ten minutes before, Jรถrgen Strand Larsen did another thing in the bag, causing Fortuna to suffer the fourth competition defeat in a row and stays stuck in seventeen place. Groningen gives the Go Ahead win a good sequel and is now twelfth.
