‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ authors switch to four-day work week

Eidos Montreal said they were changing their schedules and moving to a four-day work week. All this happened after a period when developers were dealing with games remotely and trying out a hybrid production model. According to the head of the studio, a four-day working week will allow you to create more innovative games.

The changes will take place in the next couple of weeks, and Eidos has gone to different lengths to achieve a similar outcome — for example, meetings will take 30 minutes rather than 60 minutes. This whole initiative is aimed at improving the atmosphere for employees.

Journalist Jason Schreier noted that Eidos Montreal was the first AAA studio to make such a decision. He thinks other developers in Montreal may follow suit, too.

The studios freshest project will be Guardians of the Galaxy, which will be released on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series and Nintendo Switch on October 26.
