‘Halilhodzic fired after all’

Vahid Halilhodzic really has to take his strides as Moroccos national coach. The Bosnian will be fired a few months before the start of the World Cup, reports Lร‰quipe. The conflict with Hakim Ziyech, among other things, costs him the head.
Halilhodzic has been at the helm of the Lions of the Atlas since 2019, where he was broiled with Ziyech. Partly because of this, the position of the elector has been the subject of discussion many times, but so far the Moroccan union maintained confidence in him. The president even promised earlier this year that Ziyech would return to the national team, but the forty-time international has no appetite for that as long as Halilhodzic is at the helm.
The Chelsea playmaker seems to be pulling at the longest end now. According to Lร‰quipe, partly due to the conflict with Ziyech, there is talk about an exit from the national coach. Incidentally, Noussair Mazraoui could not get through one door with Halilhodzic for a long time. However, the right back of then Ajax and now Bayern Munich recently returned to the selection.
