Happy Van Nistelrooij puts seven in the spotlight at PSV: ‘Hats off, real’

Armando Obispo can count on special compliments from trainer Ruud van Nistelrooij. With a strong sliding, the defender prevented AS Monaco from making the 1-3, while PSV reached the same level not much later. Van Nistelrooij also makes it clear that PSV actually cant tipp to the Monegasks.
PSV finally won 3-2 against Monaco after extension. Without Obispo
s sliding, that probably wouldnt have been possible at all. “That was really a world action,” says Van Nistelrooij after the game at the press conference, where he is quoted by the Eindhovens Dagblad. “And thats how Ive seen more of those moments at a very high level. Our invaders? Hats off. Really. Three experienced men and three young guests who did great (André Ramalho, Érick Gutiérrez, Johan Bakayoko, Fredrik Oppegård, Marco van Ginkel and Jarrad Branthwaite, ed.).”
In conversation with ESPN, the PSV coach already made it clear that Monaco was stronger in Eindhoven. At the press conference, he goes one step further. “Monaco is just Champions League level. The reality is that we as PSV cannot match that yet”, says Van Nistelrooij noted by Voetbal International. “And so you have to look for other ways to win.”
Now a double meeting with Giovanni van Bronckhorst
s Rangers FC awaits on PSV. Before the Brabanders travel to Ibrox, another duel at Go Ahead Eagles is scheduled.

Van Nistelrooij about the sliding of Obispo, which prevented the 1-3 at PSV-AS Monaco. ,, That was really a global action. And so Ive seen more of those moments at a very high level. Our invaders? Hats off. Really. Three experienced men and three young guests who did a great job.”
