Heerenveen finally takes another point against RKC

After three successive defeats in the Eredivisie sc Heerenveen took another point. The Frisians did this in the home game against RKC Waalwijk, which for a long time had a predominance. The duel ended in 1-1.

Soon Heerenveen came ahead, according to a not entirely unknown recipe. Henk Veerman tapped in after preparing work by Joey Veerman.

After that, it was mostly RKC to the ball. That led to the equalizer in the 56th minute. Richard van der Venne shot ‘out of the turn’ after a move by Thierry Lutonda. Just before, Vitalie Damascan was close to the winning goal for the Brabanders, but the understudy hit the pole through the fingers of goalkeeper Erwin Mulder.

With sc Heerenveen, Tibor Halilovic debuted as a base player. The 25-year-old Croat previously played for HNK Rijeka. Siem de Jong, another novice, started on the couch. He played against Fortuna Sittard for the first time. De Jong fell in after an hour.

Trainer Johnny Jansen was missing on the couch at Heerenveen, because he is still struggling with the aftermath of a contagion with the coronavirus. As before against Fortuna Sittard, he was replaced by Hennie Spijkerman.
