Rami Kaib is the new leftback of sc Heerenveen. The Swede comes over from Elfsborg and signed a contract until mid-2024 at the Abe Lenstra Stadium.
There were reports from Sweden that Heerenveen did business with Elfsborg and Kaib wanted to add to the selection. That deal has now been completed: the 23-year-old left-back, who reached 16 matches in the Allsvenskan last season and finished second behind the Malmö country champion, signs for three and a half years in Friesland and will play with number 41.
Technical manager Gerry Hamstra is content with his new linksback. “We are glad that we also managed to capture Rami,” he says on the club site. “Rami is a modern left-back: he has speed, sees the game and has a strong left leg. With him, we bring in a player who has a lot of energy.”
Kaib is the fourth player who made the direct transition from Elfsborg to Heerenveen. Lasse Nilsson, Arber Zeneli and Ibrahim Dresevic preceded him. The Frisians are particularly active this transfer period, because Siem de Jong, Ariel Harush, Syb van Ottele and Tibor Halilovic have already been recorded.
