An unknown bidder paid 23 million euros at auction for space travel along with Amazon founder Jeff Bezos. They will board on July 20 for the first trip in a rocket of Blue Origin, the space company of Bezos, the richest man in the world.
There could be bidding on space travel last month. Some 6,000 people from over 140 countries participated in that. The highest bid stood at just under 4 million euros when the closing call round began. The bids followed each other quickly and after seven minutes the space trip was hammered for converted 23 million euros.

The New Shepard missile has to go to an altitude of over 100 kilometers after launch in Texas next month. The occupants are weightless there for a few minutes and see the curvature of the Earth. After that, the vessel drops back into the atmosphere to land back on Earth.
Last Monday, Bezos announced that he was going into space himself and that his brother is also going with him. “Ever since I was 5 years old, Ive been dreaming of traveling to space,” he says in a video on Instagram.
