Not only Go Ahead Eagles and Telstar, but also NEC and VVV-Venlo will move to Almelo. The quarter-final in the KNVB Cup will not be played in Goffert, but in the stadium of Heracles Almelo: this is what the number ten of the Eredivisie announced on Thursday evening.
NEC and VVV were supposed to meet Wednesday, but that cup duel was canceled because of the heavy snowfall of the past few days. The duel has been moved to Wednesday 17 February, so NEC suddenly had three home games planned in one week: Sunday FC Den Bosch will come to De Goffert, one week later NEC-de Graafschap is on the program.
The Nijmegen field does not seem to be equipped for this, so the midweek cup duel with VVV-Venlo is moved to Erve Asito. ‘Heracles Almelo is pleased that by making Erve Asito available it can serve as a host for fellow clubs’, Heracles says. On Saturday, the club will host Go Ahead Eagles and Telstar, who will play a Kitchen Champion Division Duel a few hours before Heracles-Ajax.
In the KNVB Cup two more out of four quarter-finals have to be overtaken: sc Heerenveen-Feyenoord could not continue and has been moved to Wednesday. Vitesse and Ajax are already on to the semi-finals, in which Vitesse and the winner of Heerenveen-Feyenoord have their home advantage.
