Hungarian festival Sziget postponed another year

The festival Sziget in Hungary is again postponed by one year. That‘s what the organization announced on Thursday. Sziget is in August every year. Last year the festival was postponed by a year because of corona.

“ We at Sziget believe that it is our shared responsibility to guide each other through these stormy times,” writes the organization on Facebook. “After a thorough review of the options and safety, we decided to bring the festival back in 2022.”

Sziget attracts many Dutch people every year. Tickets for last year’s postponed edition remain valid for 2022, and people who decide to keep their ticket receive an extra voucher as a thank you.

The festival, which lasts a week, attracted around 530,000 visitors from more than 100 different countries in 2019. On stage were the Foo Fighters, Ed Sheeran, Post Malone, Florence + The Machine and Martin Garrix.
