Naci Ünüvar is happy that he was able to play together with Mohamed Ihattaren at Jong Ajax in recent months. The eighteen-year-old youth international was immediately impressed by the former PSVer.
“We all know his quality and I think he has proven it a number of times right away. He trained super hard. He came back and was immediately important to us. We helped him a lot, and he really helped us. That takes everyone to a higher level right away,” says Ünüvar to ESPN.
Ünüvar thinks that he and Ihattaren also benefit from the approach of Jong Ajax trainer John Heitinga. “To guys like Mo and I, he just says: Im not going to tell you what to do around sixteen. Players like us do that themselves at the moment, you know? Its nice that Heitinga gives that freedom.”
Ihattaren played four duels for the Amsterdam promises in the Kitchen Champion Division. In it, the playmaker scored four times and gave two assists. Ihattaren is rented from Juventus, but can be taken over definitively for two million euros. Ünüvar also experienced a strong season with sixteen goals and twelve assists in 33 league games.
