Illusionist Siegfried Fischbacher – from Siegfried & Roy – died in Las Vegas

Siegfried Fischbacher, known as Siegfried & Roy‘s illusionist, died at the age of 81. The German illusionist suffered from pancreatic cancer. Last year, his partner Roy Horn died from the effects of the coronavirus. He was 75 years old.

Fischbacher died on January 14 at his Las Vegas home. In early January, his illness was diagnosed and it turned out that for him there was no chance of cure.

The illusionist duo became world famous with extravagant lion and tiger shows. For 20 years, the men were the best-paid artists in Las Vegas.

In 1999 Siegfried & Roy got a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame:

The success of their performances came to an end when Horn was severely injured in 2003 as a result of an attack by one of the animals. Horn was partially paralyzed and never performed again. โ€œThe world lost one of the greatest magicians and I lost my best friendโ€, Fischbacher responded last year to Horn’s death. โ€œFrom the moment we met, I knew Roy and I would change the world. There is no Siegfried without Roy and no Roy without Siegfried.โ€
