From Liverpool to VVV-Venlo. Perr Schuurs and Ajax will compete against VVV-Venlo this weekend. Schuurs conquered a base spot in the pre-season, according to his own words, makes big steps and wants to achieve a good result against the club from Limburg.
For a long time, the young defender, who was compared to Matthijs de Lit by Michael Owen, does not have to think when asked which aspect of his game he has improved most in the last time. “I think I‘ve made the biggest steps in terms of ruthlessness. That is what I had to improve and what I still need to get better at, I can still take steps in it”, he says in conversation with the club channel of Ajax.
Schuurs plays with more and more confidence and therefore also sits in his skin with Ajax, he says. “With confidence, you play much better and do things that make you feel good about. I like to give crossballs and I will do it more often with more confidence.”
The defender is still far from learning and continues to do everything in its power to take steps. “I want to get better every training. That’s something I have to work on every day. But I am also proud to be playing for Ajax and now being a base player”, he concludes.
