In December 2021, film distribution fees in Russia increased by 188%

As reported by the Distributor‘s Bulletin, preliminary film distribution in Russia last December amounted to 4. 75 billion rubles. This is 188% more than in November 2021, and 222% more than in December 2020.

If we add the indicators of the CIS countries to the cinemas in Russia, the total amount of fees will amount to 5. 513 billion roubles.

This is 168% more than in November, and 248% higher than in December 2020. In addition, it became known that this December, Russian cinemas sold more than 15 million tickets, which is 198% more than last November and 216% more than in December 2020.

Taking into account all cinemas in the CIS, these figures will amount to 16 million, 124% and 205%, respectively. Obviously, this increase is primarily due to the high-profile premieres of the month – especially the releaseโ€ Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Spider’s total fees in Russia exceeded 2. 77 billion rubles.
