“I’ve seen both teams play and don’t think Ajax is less than Dortmund”

RTL analysts Jan Boskamp and Wesley Sneijder are satisfied with Ajaxs results, but not the game. Besiktas was kept alive.
It was very mediocre. They were going to be hard, chopping. Besiktas even got a bit into the match. The second half wasn
t to peek at. Imagine it goes 2-1? , Boskamp says shortly after the game. Besiktas didnt want to play football at all. They only have to stop trying to stop. Its also about results. I felt that Ajax took a step back and didnt put that much energy in it anymore, adds Sneijder. Now you have to focus on the weekend and then the next game in the Champions League. Convenience is inherent in such a competition. Its all pretty easy, then youre going to pinch a little bit.
HallerSébastien Haller made another goal for Ajax, although there could have been more. I thought he was too busy, says Sneijder. He didn
t dove into the corner, which is typically Haller. He was unhappy in his completion. He could have made four again, but he keeps getting there. He creates that space for himself. I think its a breath of fresh air to watch, its always there. At the right time too.
DortmundBorussia Dortmund is the next hurdle for Ajax. The Amsterdammers collapsed in the second half, but Sneijder does not expect a repeat against the Germans. That doesnt happen against Dortmund either. Ive seen both teams play and dont think Ajax is less than Dortmund. They will want the initiative, also against Dortmund. We shouldnt be dramatic about it either, this is just a fantastic achievement of Ajax.
And how far can Ajax get? Pierre van Hooijdonk talked about the final. We dont have to talk about the finals all of a sudden, says Sneijder. Lets watch it from match to match. Youll be getting a whooper against Dortmund, and then? Lets just focus on wintering.
Boskamp agrees. Ajax can go far, but not the final I think. I dont see that happening. You have Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich. Bayern is to feast.
