Jans sees ‘small advantage’ for Twente against Fiorentina: ‘Four to one’

Ron Jans has no intention of changing his tactics before the game with Fiorentina. The practice master of FC Twente assumes the strength of his team and hopes for a nice match in Florence.
โ€œWe have already played four official games, Fiorentina just one. Physically, that is a small advantage for us,โ€ Jans said at the press conference in the run-up to the Conference League poster, recorded by Voetbal International. Nevertheless, the 63-year-old head coach does not want to know about a favorite role. โ€œUp front, they have some great players with a lot of individual qualities. The only question is to what extent they are already a team at this stage of the season.โ€
Jans sees some similarities between Twente and Fiorentina. โ€œBoth are clubs that have found their way up again after a few lesser years. Both teams want to put a lot of pressure and stand for offensive football, where we play forward a little faster and Fiorentina is looking for the combination more.โ€
De Zwollenaar is confident in the qualities of his players. โ€œOf course, a European match will be more result-oriented than a league match, but we are going to play our own game and do not adapt,โ€ says Jans. โ€œWe often keep zero in the back and I wouldn‘t be dissatisfied with 0-0 as a result, but in the front we keep zero a little less often. I hope we don’t do that tomorrow either.โ€
Twente will play the duel in the Conference League playoffs in Florence on Thursday evening at 9 p.m. Seven days later, Fiorentina comes to visit Enschede.
