Pascal Jansen wants to pursue PSV with AZ. Because of the victory over Feyenoord, the Alkmaarders are firmly in third place and PSV is in sight of the ranking.
“PSV is the next one we want to catch,” says a happy Jansen at ESPN. “A few weeks ago it was Feyenoord, but we are now taking a little more distance from that. The next week we will also play a nice game against Vitesse, which we can also put at a distance. All this has to happen first, but our target remains PSV. We want to catch up with them now.”
Jansen wanted to fight Feyenoord differently than before this season. “Today we had the intention to make the race a little less up and down than in Rotterdam. Partly succeeded, but not quite. Both we have good selections and players on the pitch. Then I am glad afterwards that you see a competition like today, and that we are on the right side.”
AZ now occupies the third place in the Eredivisie with 49 points. The Alkmaarders have two points less than number two PSV. The margin with number four Vitesse is four points.
