Janssen vaccines will be delivered to the EU from 19 April

Janssens corona vaccine (Johnson & Johnson) will be delivered to Europe from 19 April. Thats what the company announced on Monday.

The Netherlands expects nearly 170,000 Janssen vaccines next month. In mid-April, the first 84,750 vaccines will come, as Minister Hugo de Jonge (Health) recently reported. The pharmaceutical wants to supply a total of 3 million vaccines in the second quarter. The Health Council recommended that Janssens vaccine be administered first to elderly people over 60 years of age and to people with specific medical conditions.

The vaccine was given the green light on 11 March by the European Medicines Agency EMA as the fourth coronavaccin. Only one shot of the vaccine is needed, in contrast to the previously authorised vaccines from PFIZER/BionTech, Moderna and AstraZeneca.
