The song with which Jeangu Macrooy represents the Netherlands at the Eurovision Song Contest in his own country can be heard for the first time on Thursday. The singer ‘first’ the song during a live stream on YouTube, Instagram and Facebook. The song can also be heard simultaneously in the NPO 1 program De Vooravond.
The live stream is not only aimed at Dutch viewers but is accessible to the whole world and is therefore done in English. Nothing is known about the song, the successor of Grow. The 27-year-old soul singer and the selection committee of AVROTS did not let go of anything about that.
At the online event a select group of fans will be present digitally. They can give their first response and there is also room for some questions to Jeangu.
Last year the now stopped De Wereld Draaken By the first of Jeangu‘s song. However, the singer never got the chance to sing Grow on the Songfestival podium. Because of the coronacrisis, the event was canceled last year. All participants who return must deliver a new number this year.
Because of Duncan Laurence’s Dutch win in 2019, Jeangu has already been placed for the final of the Eurovision Song Contest. It will take place on 22 May in Rotterdam Ahoy.
