Jürgen Klopp cannot be present at his mother‘s funeral this week. Because of Germany’s strict entry rules, he cannot come across from the United Kingdom.
The German Government is very strict when it comes to flights from British cities since the violent outbreak of the coronavirus there. Probably there is an option for the trainer to make the flight, but should he be quarantined for so long after arrival, that the ceremony has already passed before he can go outside. So Klopp misses the funeral of his own mother Elisabeth, who died Tuesday at the age of 81.
“ She meant everything to me,” Klopp responded. “She was a typical mother in the best sense of the word. As soon as circumstances allow, we will hold a matching and beautiful commemoration.”
Despite the fact that Klopp is currently not allowed to move in Germany, he will move to the mainland of Europe next week. In Budapest, he will compete with Liverpool against RB Leipzig in the eighth final of the Champions League. The race was moved to the Hungarian capital because the selection of ‘The Reds’ is not welcome in Germany.
