FC Volendam will be full on Tuesday for a stunt against PSV in the KNVB Cup. Defender Micky van de Ven tells us something about the battle plan.
“PSV will be really busy in the beginning. I think they‘re trying to decide the game in the first half hour with 0-2 or something. We’re going to keep the place locked in the back and do our thing,” says Van de Ven to ESPN.
Trainer Wim Jonk joins this. “You have to play very compact. All the one liners are there, but go do it. It goes at a faster pace for some than they are used to. You have to be prepared for that.”
Van de Ven does not get off the leg because of the top game against PSV. “I‘m just doing my own thing. It’s not that I think, oh, I‘m playing PSV. It’s a nice stage you get. More people look at this than Volendam – FC Dordrecht. Then it‘s just up to yourself what you’re going to show.”
