Justice Peru demands 18 years in prison for Joran van der Sloot after drug smuggling

In Peru, a prison sentence of eighteen years and four months was demanded against Joran van der Sloot for drug smuggling. The Dutchman has been serving a 28 year imprisonment in Peru for the 2010 assassination of 21-year-old Stephany Flores.

According to the prosecutors, Van der Sloot and his girlfriend and some others tried to smuggle almost 300 grams of cocaine and 140 grams of marijuana into the prison in Juliaca.

The drugs were hidden in red beets that Van der Sloots girlfriend wanted to bring into prison in August last year. During a checkup, the drugs were discovered.

Cell for girlfriend also demanded

The girlfriend has always insisted that she knew nothing about it, but justice does not believe it; that is why she also demanded a cell against her eighteen years, as against three fellow prisoners of Van der Sloot. A friends brother would also be involved in drug smuggling and, if its up to the prosecutors, he has to go to prison for 14 years.
