In the 153rd Derby della Capitale, the city derby with AS Roma, Lazio has put aside the eternal rival with ample figures. In Stadio Olimpico it became 3-0 for Lazio, who, through victory, found the connection with the top-6 in Serie A.
AS Roma is still third but pursuers Juventus, Atalanta and Napoli have all played two matches less.
With Rick Karsdorp in the base, AS Roma quickly got the first chance of the match, but striker Edin Dzeko tapped the ball into the hands of Lazio-keeper Pepe Reina.
Lazio captain Ciro Immobile did strike afterwards. Defender Roger Ibañez blundered flashy, trying to shoot a ball away, but overlooked Lazio attacker Manuel Lazzari.
Through the leg of Lazzari, the ball ended up pardoes in front of Immobiles feet. The attacker did not hesitate for a moment and smashed the ball into the upper right corner. Leven ten minutes later Luis Alberto signed for the 2-0.
Again Lazzari was involved in the hit. The Italian went down in duel with Ibañez in the penalty area, claimed a penalty kick, but got up fast enough to bring Alberto into action. The Spaniard shoved the ball into the far corner with a watched shot.
Roma insisted after rest, but Lazio got the chances. Sergei Milinkovic-Savic and Immobile could not pass Roma-keeper Pau López. It was Alberto who threw the duel in the lock with a shot shot shot.
