Through a 2-0 victory in the away match against FC Dordrecht, De Graafschap has taken over the leading position in the Kuitken Champion Division from Almere City FC. For the Doetinchemmers, it was already the ninth victory of the season.
Mohamed Hamdaoui put De Graafschap in the lead after ten minutes and Ralf Seuntjens made it a penalty kick 0-2 fifteen minutes before time.
Due to the victory, De Graafschap now has 28 points and that is one more than Almere City, which awaits the away game against number 3 SC Cambuur on Sunday. FC Dordrecht, who fired trainer Harry van den Ham earlier in the week, has only won once and stands last.
NAC defeats Telstar
NAC Breda for the first time since early October won another home game. Telstar was defeated by 1-0 in the own Rat Verlegh Stadium.
Invaller Jethro Mashart scored the goal for the home club halfway through the second half with a marker. Mashart was only in the field for two minutes. In the last minute Telstar keeper Jasper Schendelaar was close to the equalizer, but the goalkeeper who came forward with a corner kick hit the bar with a headball.
NAC, severely affected by the coronavirus, lost on its own field to SC Cambuur (0-4) and NEC: 0-1 in the last few weeks, the team of trainer Maurice Steijn steijn took three consecutive competitions as a loser. Last Friday the club won for the first time in a long time; with 4-1 at MVV.
Because of the narrow victory NAC stands third, with 4 points behind the lead runner De Graafschap.
