Klopp and co. are in trouble: Liverpool spanked in Champions League

Liverpools decline has been given a new chapter in the Champions League on Wednesday night. Against SSC Napoli, Jürgen Klopps team was completely dried off: 4-1.
That Liverpool is not doing its best is an understatement. It failed to win the first three Premier League games, regained against Bournemouth and Newcastle United, but disappointed again in the Merseyside derby against Everton, only to be completely outplayed against Napoli.
The start of Liverpool in Naples was disastrous. The referee pointed at the dot after just four minutes of play after James Milner made a hands-ball: Piotr Zielinski then shot hard behind goalkeeper Alisson from eleven metres, who then distinguished himself by stopping a penalty from Victor Osimhen. This was preceded by a violation by Virgil van Dijk.
Liverpool defenders did not know where to look for it at times. The weak Joe Gomez in particular fell badly out of tune. He was negatively involved in Andre Zambo Anguissas 2-0, with the other defenders also looking bad. The 3-0, which put on Liverpool, fell before halftime and came from Giovanni Simeone. It was clear that Liverpool was already lost, yet Klopp tried to do something about it at halftime. Gomez was not allowed to stand.
It didn
t get any effect. In fact, Liverpool quickly fell 4-0 behind, making it simply a task to mitigate the damage. Luis Diaz quickly did something back, but it didnt get really exciting in Naples anymore. In six days Ajax will travel to Anfield.
