The fact that Liverpool manager has little to choose in his rear is clear for a while now, but the worries may become even greater. In the Merseyside Derby against Everton, Jordan Henderson, posted in the rear out of distress, fell out with a muscle injury.
Klopp can not say much about the severity of the injury, but sees it gloomy. “It‘s his groin and it doesn’t look good”, says Klopp after the 0-2 defeat against Everton in front of Sky Sports camera. “We don‘t know exactly, and we’re going to find out more about it tomorrow.”
With this, Klopp seems to be able to cross out the next option for the rear. Liverpool is missing a number of key players in the back, including Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joël Matip. Now Henderson comes in. “None of the medical staff was positive about it,” Klopp added at the press conference after the competition. “We have to wait for the scan.”
With defeat against Everton, the top spots in the Premier League are becoming increasingly out of sight for The Reds. The team is sixth (with as many points as rival Everton). The difference with number four Chelsea, which stands on a Champions League spot, is three points. Leader Manchester City is now sixteen points ahead of Liverpool with a match less played.
