FC Barcelona trainer Ronald Koeman claims that he never had doubts about Antoine Griezmann. The Frenchman had a hard time with Barça in his first period, but has been doing very well in the last few weeks by being decisive. Koeman is also lauding about Ousmane Dembélé.
“I remember the phone call with him when I signed for Barça,” Koeman said at the press conference about Griezmann. “I told him I had a lot of faith in him. I know he didn‘t produce as many goals and assists in the beginning as he did now. I just never had any doubts about him, and he’s self-critical. It‘s important to have him as a player. He has always worked to turn the tide and to give the best of himself.”
Ousmane Dembele is another player who stands out in a positive sense at Barcelona. In recent years, the 23-year-old attacker has been boggling with multiple injuries, but is now fit for a longer period of time. “I don’t know what happened in recent years,” Koeman responds to the many injuries that Dembélé had. “But he has improved significantly physically and is able to cope with the pace of the matches. Great.”
