Ronald Koeman doesn‘t want to talk about a winter transfer from Memphis Depay right now. The coach of Barcelona hoped to take over the attacker of Olympique Lyon in the summer, but it ricocheted off because of financial rules.
At the press conference prior to the Champions League match against Ferencváros, Koeman will be asked about his wishes for the upcoming transfer window. “This is not the right time to talk about it,” says the Dutch practice master of Barcelona. “I don’t like to review certain names or positions.”
When the name of Memphis Depay is mentioned, the Dutchman responds stimulated. “No, that is not fair and disrespectful to the players who do their best all the time and want to get the most out of it. In January, we will decide what to do.”
In addition, Koeman does not think that Barcelona needs a new player in the peak position. Martin Braithwaite did an excellent job against Dinamo Kiev last week. “He deserved to be in that contest. He‘s doing very well for us and putting competition in the team. He’s trying hard for that.”
