Orkun Kökcü did not intend to seek the conflict with Yannick Carrasco. The Belgian attacker of Atlético Madrid scratched Kökcü in the face when he wanted to stand up for Tyrell Malacia, his team mate of Feyenoord.
The scratch is still all over the face of Kökcü. “He (Carrasco, ed.) was in duel with Tyrell and kicked him,” explains the situation by the midfielder of Rotterdam. “Then I thought Tyrell would get a hit, so I wanted to push Carrasco away. Then we both went a little bit, I guess.”
The playmaker with Turkish roots did not feel that he was wronged. “It didnt feel like he touched me, but I do think he grabbed me. At one point I felt the sweat burning and then I knew I was scratched.”
Later, Kökcü also responded to its social channels to the incident with the Belgian international. He posted a photo showing that Carrasco grabs his shirt and accompanied it with the text “I thought that swapping shirt always happened after the game.”
