Football: Heerenveen with Veerman and Veerman against Feyenoord
20.29 hrs: Joey Veerman can play the quarterfinal of the KNVB Cup against Feyenoord football on Wednesday with sc Heerenveen. The midfielder dropped off on Sunday just before the lost duel with AZ (3-1) injured.
Also striker Henk Veerman is sufficiently fit for the duel with Feyenoord. He was missing from the basic formation before the duel with AZ but did fall in. “From Henk I knew he would be a hundred percent again”, said trainer Johnny Jansen. “But Joey‘s back there, that’s a big windfall. We have everyone on board.”
Heerenveen knocked Feyenoord last month in the Eredivisie (3-0). “But for us this will be the most important competition of this season so far,” explains Jansen who did not want to say whether he will fight Feyenoord in the same way as he did on January 27th. “What has been has been,” says Heerenveen‘s trainer. “We started with a playing style that we want to develop. We’re getting better. That way we will fight Feyenoord.”
The winner of the duel between Heerenveen and Feyenoord will receive Ajax in the semi-final.
Water Polo: Koopman helps water poloers at OCT shortly before time pass Romanians
20.20 hrs: The Dutch water polomans remain in the race for participation in the Olympic Games. The team of coach Harry van der Meer defeated Romania at the Olympic qualifying tournament in Rotterdam in an exciting match with 9-8 (2-1 2-3 2-2 3-2 3-2). The winning hit of Jesse Koopman fell 4 seconds before time and caused a huge discharge at Oranje.
For the Netherlands it was the second win this tournament. Previously, Germany was defeated by 11-10. Afterwards, a disadvantaged defeat against the strong Croatia (8-25) followed.
Oranje plays against France and Russia in group B. The top 4 of the pool places itself in front of the quarter-finals. At the OCT in Rotterdam the remaining three starting tickets for the Tokyo Olympic Games will be distributed. The Dutch men last participated in the Games in 2000.
The Netherlands led against Romania after the first period with 2-1 thanks to goals of Pascal Janssen and Thomas Lucas. Romania then took over the initiative. With three hits within five minutes, Oranje suddenly stood behind: 2-4. In that phase, the Van der Meer team struggled to reach midfront Jorn Winkelhorst and the danger had to come mainly through distance shots. Via Koopman and Jorn Muller it was halfway through
4-4. The midvore suffered an injury in the second period and had to stay aside the rest of the duel. Afterwards it became clear that Winkelhorst has a small hole or crack in his eardrum. Wednesday needs to be made clear if he can continue the tournament.
Even after the third period, the position was still in balance (6-6), after which both shifts gave each other little in the last period. Shortly before, Orange came up with a man more. With his third hit, Koopman made sure that the quarter-finals and thus also the Games remain in sight.
The Netherlands will compete against France on Wednesday.
Football: Wiegman hopes that Orange learned from meeting with USA
19.38 hours: Sarina Wiegman looks forward with confidence to the upcoming practice matches against Belgium and Germany. The national coach of the Dutch football players said on Tuesday not to be shocked by the defeat against the United States at the end of November (0-2). Orange hoped to have narrowed the gap with the world champion, but the Netherlands did not create any serious opportunity.

The Netherlands plays first Thursday in Brussels againstBelgium, next week in Venlo, the meeting with Germany will follow. Wiegman: “Those are two top plans, I am very happy to be able to play against them. It’s also been a while since we met them.”
In the two practice duels, the national coach also has access to the internationals who play football in England. “The entry bans sometimes make it difficult now”, Wiegman knows. “Fortunately, there is a direct train connection from England to the Netherlands. We managed to get everyone here. We‘re constantly tested, and everyone keeps a close eye on their contacts. That should be, too. We are privileged to be allowed to play.”
Shorttrack: Canadian shorttrack star Boutin does not go to World Championships in Dordrecht
19.36 uur: Kim Boutin does not come into action at the World Championships shorttrack in Dordrecht early next month. The 26-year-old Canadian focuses entirely on the Olympic Games of 2022 in Beijing.
“ It’s an informed decision and I am convinced that this is the right choice,” says Boutin via social media. “Last year I felt like I was on a roller coaster with that coronapandemic. I think this is a perfect time to step back. My goal is clear. I want to be a summit at the 2022 Olympics, and I really believe that the plan we draw up will take me far.”
Boutin captured silver at the 1500 meters and bronze at the 1000 meters of the 2019 World Cup Shorttrack in Sofia. Due to the coronapandemic, all matches in Canada were cancelled in the last month.
Football: Schalke 04 says goodbye to technical director
17:55 hours Schalke 04 says goodbye to technical director Jochen Schneider next summer. He is held responsible for the poor results of the Bundesliga gate.
Last month Schneider managed to seduce Klaas-Jan Huntelaar to a return to Schalke 04. The van Ajax striker has hardly come into action for his German club due to two calf injuries.

Sports clubs miss millions of euros due to ‘weaving flaw’ in NOW rules
16:58 hrs. Hundreds of Dutch sports clubs miss out on compensation due to a “weaving error” in the allocation system of the NOW scheme. Under the leadership of the KNVB football association, the sports federations advocate adaptation of the rules.
The government assesses applications on the basis of the declared wage costs in June 2020, but in many sports no salaries are paid during that month because the season stops. According to the Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment, it is not possible to adapt it.
According to the KNVB, between the six hundred and seven hundred amateur football associations amateur-football associations amounted to more than 2 million euros due to this “bureaucratic rule”, says Jan Dirk van der Zee, the director of amateur football.
Hockey: Duels Oranje with Germany without an audience

Football: Alaba confirms departure at Bayern Munich

For months there have been rumors about the approaching farewell of the 28-year-old Austrian, especially because he refused to renew his contract with the German superpower. During a press meeting, the international officially announced that he will move to another club next summer. However, Alaba hasn‘t unveiled his new club yet. Among others, Barcelona and Real Madrid would like to include the transfer-free player.
Alaba settled in 2008 at the youth department of Bayern Munich. Since then he won all the prizes with the German club that can be won.
Football: Manchester United captures talent Greenwood longer
14:00 hrs Manchester United has extended the contract of top talent Mason Greenwood Tuesday until 2025, with an option for another year. Greenwood comes from its own youth education program. The only 19-year-old right outside has played 52 competition duels for ManUnited.In it, he scored eleven times.
“ Mason is a fantastic talent and a good example of the type of player that our youth education produces,” says coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. “He has made a lot of progress this season, shows maturity and depth in his game, and has become one of the best young people in the country. Chess: Giri resumed 19 April Candidate Tournament Yekaterinburg
13:37 hrs Schaker Anish Giri continues his hunt for the win in the Candidate Tournament on 19 April. In the eighth round, the Dutch grandmaster takes black against the Russian Ian Nepomniachchi. Place of action is Yekaterinburg in Russia.
The World Chess Federation FIDE confirmed the resumption of the tournament on Tuesday, in which eight top chess players decide who can challenge the world champion Magnus Carlsen in November.
The Candidate Tournament was terminated at the end of March after seven rounds after the Russian government announced to close the airspace due to the coronapandemic. The foreign chess players and officials left the country as soon as possible.
Football: PSV stalt young defender at Dinamo Zagreb
12.48 hours: PSV rents Justin de Haas for the rest of the season rented to Dinamo Zagreb. This is what the Eindhovenaren announce on their website.
De Haas played a total of 25 duels for Jong PSV, scoring one goal in the won away match against Jong Ajax this season. The 21-year-old defender has an expiring contract at the Philips Stadium and probably will not return there after his rental.

Motorsport: World Championship Superbike Assen with three months moved to July
12.42 pm: The Superbike World Championship will not open this season at the TT Circuit of Assen. The motorsport event has been moved by three months, from 23-25 April to 23-25 July. Assen is the fifth round in the championship on the modified calendar.
The TT Circuit follows the guidelines of the safety region, which stipulates that until 1 June no large-scale public events in Drenthe may take place due to the coronapandemic. Since promoter Dorna attaches to the presence of spectators, the decision to oppose the World Cup Superbike was quickly taken.
“ What the situation is in July, we do not know yet. We prefer to organise the event, as well as the TT, but depend on the national policy,” says a spokesman for the circuit.
The TT of Assen did not take place last year and is scheduled for 25-27 June. “The 37,000 tickets we had already sold are valid for the upcoming edition. But we cannot know at the moment whether by then the directives will be relaxed and public allowed.”
The season in the Superbike World Cup starts from 7-9 May in Estoril, Portugal. Michael van der Mark is the only Dutchman in the class of heavy engines. The Rotterdammer ended last season, in his last year in the factory team of Yamaha, fifth. Next season, he will be on a BMW.
Cycling: Vuelta shares wildcards from
