Hans Kraay jr. has been watching Louis van Gaals statements about Steven Berghuis with rising amazement. The ESPN analyst thinks the national coach has behaved rude.
Under Van Gaal, Berghuis as a right winger is a base player in the Dutch team. “He didnt play before that, so he can thank God on his knees for leaving him in the Dutch team three times,” said the electorat at a press conference on Friday.
Those words dont go well with Kraay. “What he does with Berghuis is truly incredible. I remember one of his first press conferences was: you have to stop over Berghuis, because its great,” the analyst at ESPN responds. “And now he calls to think God on his knees. If I were Mountain House I would knock on his door once: youre always protecting the players anyway, what is this? I find it rude.”
By the way, its the question that Van Gaal is referring to. For the international period with Oranje, Berghuis was also a base player at Ajax as a right-winger. Only in the last game with Vitesse was Antony preferred.
The Dutch team will resume the World Cup qualification Friday night with a match against Latvia. The kickoff in Riga is at 8:45pm.
