Kuipers: ‘After about 25 minutes, we knew a stunt was possible’

Go Ahead Eagles supported on Saturday evening by keeping Ajax at the same level in the Johan Cruijff Arena. Captain Bas Kuipers spoke to ESPN after the game.
Kuipers quickly got the feeling that there might be something to achieve. โ€œAfter about 25 minutes… If it‘s still 0-0, you know you’ve survived the first storm,โ€ he begins. โ€œThen you‘ll soon get a flashback,โ€ he refers to last season’s tie.
During halftime, the team from Deventer did face a 1-0 backlog. Reason enough for the visitors to turn it on. โ€œWe wanted to put more pressure, even though we knew that‘s dangerous against a team like Ajax. That went well. Around 65th minute, I looked at the clock and thought: this may work again.โ€ In the 78th minute, the away team hit when Willum Willumsson scored.
Kuipers also thought that the Amsterdammers’
game was disappointing. โ€œIn itself, it was quite holding back, I think. And whether that‘s up to us or them,โ€ he says while being interrupted by Hans Kraay Jr. โ€œExactly. That’s up to us,โ€ he concludes.

๐Ÿ˜ฎ @GAEagles stunts again in Amsterdam! #ajagae
