LÉquipe: Lyon wants to sell Memphis and halves asking price for Dutchman

Olympique Lyon has to sell players in order to cope with the financial problems. A transfer from Memphis Depay has become a priority for the French club.

That reports L‘Équipe. Memphis has been in the interest of FC Barcelona for a long time, but the Spanish club does not have the financial resources to secure a transfer. The asking price of Lyon, about 25 million euros, was Barcelona too gory. Memphis has another contract until the end of the season at Lyon.
At the moment there are no concrete offers for Memphis, but Lyon intends to lower the asking price for the attacker. Memphis is hoping for a collaboration with Ronald Koeman at Barcelona.
Lyon President Jean-Michel Aulas indicated earlier that his club wants to receive 25 million for Memphis, but according to L’
Équipe, this is only because Lyon wants to stay high in the tree. The French daily indicates that Lyon wants to lower the asking price to EUR 12.5 million. For example, the club receives a transfer fee for Memphis and it saves a lot in the salary costs. Memphis is a big earner at the club right now.
