Belgian soldiers found the last weapon, a machine gun, from Jürgen Conings. The military with far-right sympathies was found dead on Sunday in the Dilserbos not far from the Dutch border. The week-long search for Conings has been completed and all the security measures in force in Belgian-Limburg have been lifted according to the Governor.
Conings took heavy weapons from an army depot five weeks ago and then disappeared without a trace. In farewell letters, he threatened virologists and government among others. Police and soldiers searched several times in the Hoge Kempen National Park, which is part of the Dilserbos, using scavenger dogs for the missing man. His car, a backpack and various weapons were found in the process. Finally, his body was found on Sunday, but the last weapon was not immediately found.
