Leão helps Milan with beautiful lobe extension along Genoa in Coppa Italia

It took some effort, but AC Milan has reached the quarterfinals of the Coppa Italia after a 3-1 win over Genoa. The Milan team needed an extension for that.
Lang seemed like a surprise in the making in San Siro. Genoa surprisingly took the lead in the seventeenth minute via Leo Östigard, who beautifully headed the ball behind Milan keeper Mike Maignan.

This gap remained on the scoreboard for a long time. Milan was actively looking for the equalizer after half time, but Genoa-keeper Adrian Semper kept his team going for a long time. Until minute 74, when Olivier Giroud cleverly equalized. The Frenchman coped nicely.

Like a little devil out of a box.. 👀 Oliver Giroud shows himself for the first time and immediately puts 1-1 on the scoreboard 💫 #ZiggoSport #CoppaItalia #MilanGenoa pic.twitter.com/Wh48BikGS4

An extension was needed to designate a winner. Where Milan did not take much risk in the regular playing time with a view to a dangerous counter from Genoa (which, incidentally, did not think of attacks itself), the Milan team did so in the overtime. Rafael Leão beautifully put Milan ahead. He chipped the ball over Semper. Whether it was conscious, lets go in the middle.

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful! ✨ Intended or not.. Rafael Leao puts Milan on the edge 💥 #ZiggoSport #CoppaItalia #MilanGenoa pic.twitter.com/hMEkNwNdBy

With this, the defence of Genoa was broken. The Belgian Alexis Saelemaekers set the final score at 3-1, making Milan stand for the quarterfinals of the Coppa Italia.

Alexis Saelemaekers is also allowed to take his goal 😋 With which he also seems to decide the match: 3-1 🙅‍♂️ #ZiggoSport #CoppaItalia #MilanGenoa pic.twitter.com/MeRX5hBahX
