‘Learned a lot from my dad, think he made me a better player’

Daley Blind sees that he has learned a lot from his father Danny in his career. The Ajax defender thinks he has become a better footballer because of the former defenders tips.
Blind and Blind are currently working together – not for the first time – at Orange, as a selection player and assistant. In Touzani x Orange, Daley Blind talks more about working with his father. I
ve always experienced it as something special, he says. I was able to learn a lot from my father in football.
I can handle criticism from home very well, continues the left-footed defender. I also hear that boys dont want to talk to their dad about football. I just tried to take everything like a sponge, grab those moments to learn from it. I think he made me a much better football player.
However, Blind has also had a hard time with his last name. If your name is on the form at a youth tournament, you will be paid extra attention. If you think you play five passes well, that counts as one in the eyes of many, because Blind needs to be able to do a little more. You do experience a certain pressure.
