Legendary composer Shin Megami Tensei and Persona has left Atlus

Shoji Maguro, the longtime composer of the Shin Megami Tensei and Persona series, left Atlus after two-plus decades of work to focus on creating his own game. The latter will feature 6 November at the INDIE Live Expo 2021. Maguro has been working on the mysterious project for the past five years with the help of Kodansha Game Creators Lab.

However, fans of long-playing film series have nothing to worry about โ€” the composer will continue collaboration with a former employee, but already as a freelancer. The last projects Maguro has had a hand in so far are Persona 5 Strikers and the mysterious Project Re Fantasy, before still having no release date.
