Lesson on homosexuality banned in schools in Hungary

The government of Hungary has passed a new law for schools in that country. The law states that homosexuality and transgender people should not be taught in schools.

The government believes that only a man and a woman should have a relationship together. That‘s why the government made the law. The politicians don’t want children to hear about homosexuality or transgender people. Also on TV, movies or shows in which someone is gay can no longer be broadcast during the day.

There‘s a lot of criticism of the law. Opponents are afraid that it will cause gays to discrimination more often and can’t be themselves anymore.

Over the past few days, thousands of people went to the streets to protest against the law. They say that it needs to be talked about in schools because it is often impossible to do at home.
