Tjaronn Chery played with his Maccabi Haifa against Feyenoord on Tuesday night and showed up. The playmaker (pictured at the top of archive image) shot the bar once and gave birth to a Richard Witschge-like action on the sidelines.
The former midfielder of Ajax held up a few times in a Classic against Feyenoord while walking the ball. Chery did the same in the Conference League meeting with the Rotterdammers. “It‘s been a long time since I left the Netherlands,” he explains at ESPN. “Let me wake up those guys for a moment, give a little show away.”
At Feyenoord, they felt like it had been more in it. Chery thought his team had smelled the three points as well. “We should be a little bit disappointed after this game. Feyenoord is a tough team, so I have a double feeling about that. All in all, a tie might be just right, right? You haven’t seen all of us today.”
